Middle Rock - High Country Farm Tour
Farming 7,000 sheep at Middle Rock in the Lake Coleridge high country, hosts Bruce & Lyn Nell and Charlotte and Vince Rietveld have over 25 year's experience of welcoming visitors to Middle Rock.
With its easy access for large tour coaches, the property is an ideal venue for international visitors, farming delegates and families wishing to experience life on a high country sheep station.
Only one hour's drive west of Christchurch, tours take up to 3 hours and include viewing seasonal farming activities, large flocks of sheep, sheep dog mustering, sheep handling and lamb feeding (in season).
Morning or afternoon teas served in the homestead kitchen are also included.
A visit to Middle Rock offers the opportunity to be guests of a New Zealand farming family in a non-commercial environment amidst the stunning high country scenery of the Lake Coleridge area. Each tour is different as visitors experience 'life as it is today' at Middle Rock.
Small groups can be catered for, but please give as much advance notice as you can. Groups supply their own transport to Middle Rock.

Benlea - Farm and Garden Tours
Join us for a sheep and cattle farm tour at Benlea, Canterbury, New Zealand - just one hours drive from Christchurch. The farm tours are ideal for people who want an insight into farming, and for those wanting some more in depth information.
Bus Tours:The farm bus tours incorporate a drive through the 3000 acre (1200 Ha) farm with a commentary along the way about how we run the farm and what is currently happening as we pass by each area, followed by morning or afternoon tea at the farm house and a wander around the large country garden or feeding the pet sheep if desired. We can also take a drive into neighbouring Terrace Downs High Country Resort to view the development there.
Small Group Tours:Small group tours include all that the bus tours do but are personalised to what you would like to see and also allow for extra stops such as some spectacular views, having a look in the wool shed or driving into the paddocks to get a closer look at the stock.
Garden Only Tours:Garden only tours can be arranged for garden clubs, or other groups that would like to wander around the beautiful large country garden that covers one hectare of land with many mature trees and shrubs, both exotic and native. There are many pathways meandering through the garden, two large rock gardens - one with a natural bird bath, and a gallery to view.
